The Balochistan Chief Minister and Provincial Ministers (salaries, allowances and privileges) Amendment Bill 2004 was presented in the provincial assembly here on Friday by minister for law and parliamentary affairs Mir Abdur Rehman Jamali.
Speaker Jamal Shah Kakar presided over the session, which he later adjourned till Tuesday after transacting the business without opposition.
The opposition had staged a walkout to protest against the misguided answers to questions given by the ministers in the house.
The bill, introduced in the house, seeks amendment in Section 7-A of Act-III of 1975 in the Balochistan Chief Minister and Ministers (salaries, allowances and privileges (amendment) Act 2003.
The amendment for the words, "up to a maximum ceiling of ten thousand rupees," the words, " a fixed amount of ten thousand rupees with the monthly salary " shall be substituted.
Moving the bill, minister Jamali said the telephone bills of residences of provincial ministers as per Section 7-A III of 1975, the Balochistan Chief Minister and Ministers (salaries, allowances and privileges) (Amendment) 2003, up to a limit of Rs 10,000 per month, was paid with the salary of the ministers. It was according to the cabinet decisions of 1992 to 1998. The minister said: "Balochistan accountant general is not clearing the bills."
