His Excellency Dr Emil Ghitulescu, Ambassador of Romania, accompanied by Jahangir Azam Monnoo, Honorary Counsel General, visited All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (Aptma) Punjab Zone office here on Saturday, and discussed matters of bilateral trade and commerce relations with members of the association.
Talking to Romanian ambassador, Muhammad Waqar Monnoo, Chairman Aptma, highlighted reasons of low level of trade and investment between Pakistan and Romania. He proposed improvement in communication and exchange of trade delegations between the two countries.
He invited Romanian investors to explore joint venture investment opportunities.
His Excellency Dr Emil Ghitulescu suggested Aptma to form an investment mission to visit Romania for meeting their counterparts in the textile sector, to explore the trade and investment potential. He stated that Romania is preparing to join European Union in 2007.
Aptma members welcomed the proposal and agreed to prepare a report on prospective areas of investment in the textile sector in Pakistan or Romania, to avail market accesses opportunities.
An investment mission of Aptma members would visit Romania before June 2004, Monnoo proposed.
