Tokyo rubber futures closed little changed on Friday in a modest technical correction after losing ground this week.
The benchmark June 2004 rubber contract on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange settled up 0.4 yen per kg at 140.1 yen.
The January, February and March 2004 contracts rose by 0.1-0.7 yen, while the April contract was unchanged.
The May contract dipped by 0.2 yen. "The market just recovered some losses but there's very little new to provide market direction," a broker said.The dollar was fetching 106.09/12, against 106.22/27 yen at about the same time on Thursday. Turnover in Tocom rubber was estimated at 7,100 lots, compared with 13,584 on Thursday and 4,998 on Wednesday.
Open interest stood at 61,451 lots as of the end of Thursday, versus 62,576 lots on Wednesday and 63,506 lots on Tuesday.
