Sasta Atta programme would be launched in Tehsil Faisalabad on January 22, while in other five Tehsils it would start very soon.
Under the "Sasta Atta Programme of Chief Minister Punjab, 56,285 bags of 20 kg each would be provided to 28,142 poor and deserving families of district Faisalabad during every month through concerned Union Councils at the rate of Rs 170 per bag.
This was informed in a meeting here on Saturday, held under the chairmanship of EDO (Revenue) Dr Syed Parvaiz Abbbas, in his committee room.
The meeting was informed that in order to ensure transparent provision of Atta under "Sasta Atta Programme" of Chief Minister Punjab, a 16-member District Monitoring Committee headed by Provincial Minister for Works and Communications, Chaudhry Muhammad Zaheer ud Din Khan had been constituted.
Likewise, in Tehsil (city) Faisalabad, Sadar Faisalabad, Jaranwala, Samundri and Tandlianwala Tehsil Monitoring Committees headed by MPAs had been set up, while the Tehsil Monitoring Committee Chak Jhumra would be headed by the representative of MPA Fawad Cheema. DDO (C) Naseem Sadiq describing the process of the distribution of "Sasta
Atta" said that widows, disabled, poor and deserving of zakat would utilise the benefits of this scheme. The persons whose monthly income was less then Rs 4,000 and their families were consisted of six members would also get the Sasta Atta under this scheme.
He said that after the selection of eligible deserving families two bags of Atta would be provided to them during every month for which one coupon after every fortnight would be issued to them.
It was also informed in the meeting that the prescribed forms and coupons would be sent to DDOs (R) of all the Tehsils for taking further action by them.
Necessary training would be imparted to Secretaries of Union Councils for adopting the proper process and maintaining record of the Atta distribution. EDO (R) Dr Syed Parvaiz Abbas directed all the DDOs (R) to personally supervise/monitor the entire task for ensuring transparent distribution of Atta to deserving people.
DDO (C) Naseem Sadiq, DDOs (R) Samundri, Tandlinawala, Jaranwala and Tehsil (Sadar) Faisalabad, Syed Mubashar Hussain, Muhammad Qasim Siddiqui, Malik Muhammad Aslam, Muhammad Yaqoob Khan, ADO(R) Dr Irshad Ahmad, District Food Controller Muhammad Taufique, Chairman Flour Mills Association Faisalabad, Mian Asif Javed, Assistant Food Controllers Faisalabad, Samundn and Jaranwala, Rana Muhammad Ashraf, Nisar Ahmad and Rana Muhammad Akram, Food Inspectors Tandlianwala and Chak Jhumra, Rai Ahmad Ali and other concerned attended the meeting.
