All arrangements have been finalised in Faisalabad district to administer polio vaccine drops to the children under five years of age during forthcoming three-day national anti-polio drive starting from January 19.
This was stated during a meeting of district Polio Eradication Committee held here with DCO Tahir Hussain in the chair. EDOs health, literacy, Cap. Dr Mukhtar Ali, Asif Tarar.
DHO Dr Abdul Khalid, representatives of WHO, Allied and DHQ hospitals and Auqaf departments and other concerned attended the meeting.
Giving briefing, the DHO told the meeting that during the campaign the mobile teams of health department would visit door to door in every nook and corner of the district to administer the polio vaccine drops to the children under five years of age.
No case of polio disease has been reported in Faisalabad currently while this disease has been eradicated on world level up to sufficient extent, he claimed.
Now, anti-polio campaign is continuing in Nigeria, India and Pakistan for uprooting this disease.
DCO Tahir Hussain asked the officers of health department to pay special attention under a co-ordinated strategy for the success of this campaign.
Maximum co-operation of Union Nazims, Councillors and social workers should be sought so that no child under five years of age remained unattended by the mobile teams.
