The trading in the wholesale commodity markets maintained generally sluggish going, as changes depicted no major variations during the week ended on January 17, 2004.
The variations, more than once were seen in basmati D98, basmati 386, Sela and Sela Kernal, yellow peas. BI, gram, sugar, juwar, rapeseed Nawabshah, teas, plastics, Irri 6, rapeseeds cakes, moong, tuver, Urad Punjab and til.
The rice superior and inferior types such as D98 basmati had twice showed changes and closing price was quoted higher: inferior at Rs 1950 and better at Rs 2000, basmati 386 quoted at Rs 1900 and Rs 1950 Sela basmati quoted at Rs 2400 and Rs 2700.
Sela Kernal was quoted higher at Rs 2800 and Rs 3000, yellow peas inferior quoted at Rs 1475 and better of Rs 1505 after changes made more than once, dal yellow peas quoted at Rs 1575 and better at Rs 1605, beetle chana I underwent changes earlier also but was last seen at Rs 1625 and better at Rs 1655, beetle 50x50 quoted at Rs 1510 and Rs 1540, beetle dal up Rs 50 to Rs 1800 and better at Rs 1830.
Gram new quoted at Rs 1460 and Rs 1490, gram dal up Rs 25 to Rs 1700 and better at Rs 1730, sugar was down Rs 5 to Rs 1625 and better quoted at Rs 1690, juwar up Rs 15 to Rs 730, better quoted at Rs 735, til was subjected to revision twice and quoted down at Rs 1600 and better at Rs 1825.
Cotton cakes quoted at Rs 455 and Rs 460, Irri 6 Sindh was twice revised to be last quoted at Rs 1050 and better at Rs 1080, rapeseed Nawabshah after changes were seen last inferior at Rs 15 to Rs 475, and better down at Rs 755.
Teas from Kenya PF-1 A grade down Rs 4 to Rs 194, B grade down Rs 3 to Rs 169, plus C grade down Rs 2 to Rs 160, D-1 A grade down Rs 3 to Rs 235, B grade down Rs 2 to Rs 196, and plus C up Rs 2 to Rs 162.
Bangladesh's Garden Pack original up Rs 2 to Rs 104, Gulab up Re 1 to Rs 103 and Khushbu down Rs 3 to Rs 95.
