In compliance with the order of the Ombudsman Punjab, Sajjad Ahmed Sipra, different government departments have provided jobs as per policy to the children of five government servants, who retired on medical grounds.
Complainants in separate appeals had alleged that their fathers had retired from the government service on medical grounds, but the concerned departments had not recruited their children under Section 17-A Punjab Civil Servant Rules 1974, despite repeated requests.
On the intervention of Ombudsman Sipra, Ijaz Ahmed was appointed as 'Baildar' by the Director Pest Warning & Quality Control of Pesticides Punjab; Safdar Hussain as Cattle Attendant by the District Government Sheikhupura; Mohammad Khalid Rana as class IV staff by the Executive District Officer (Education) Rahimyar Khan; Shafqat Ali as Naib Qasid by the EDO (Health) Bahawalnagar and Noor Mohammad was recruited as sweeper by the EDO (Works & Services) Mianwali.
The ombudsman has also directed Tehsil Nazim and Tehsil Municipal Officer (TMO) Kamalia to redress the grievance of a complainant Azhar Masih, who stated that his father had retired on 21-11-1996 on medical grounds, but nothing has been done so far about his appointment.
In response to a query, the TMO Kamalia agreed to do the needful, and was directed by the ombudsman to do so within two months.
