Interior Minister Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat has said the government is firm in its determination to dismantle terrorist network, and would never compromise on national security.
He was speaking on the occasion of the inaugural ceremony of Sui gas supply to village Kandiwal and his hometown Jhang.
On the government's policies on security issues, the interior minister said the operation against terrorists was not the outcome of any external pressure, adding: "We are clear in our vision to make Pakistan a moderate and progressive Islamic state."
Faisal said the brave decision of President General Pervez Musharraf to side with the coalition in war on terrorism has improved the image of Pakistan in the comity of nations.
"Today, Pakistan is a front-line state in fighting terrorism, and the world has recognised the crucial role being played by us", said the minister.
He said the government has made a comprehensive plan to equip all security agencies with state-of-the-art weaponry and latest technology, and Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali has already approved a security package worth millions of rupees.
