Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal central leader and Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Qazi Hussain Ahmed on Wednesday said the alliance would continue to play the role of strong opposition in the parliament.
"MMA struck deal with government for the supremacy of the parliament but not to support its wrong policies," he added.
Hussain demanded immediate halt of army action in Wana and cautioned the government of its serious repercussions.
In an E-mail interview with PPI, he said that MMA would continue struggle for Constitutional reforms in the light of CII recommendations and for further legislation on the council's recommendations.
About Pak-India dialogue on Kashmir, MMA leader alleged that Musharraf had weakened Pakistan's position on negotiating table and tended to intricate the whole issue instead of solving it.
He said protocol signing would also create further problems for Pakistan. He apprehended that Indians might resort to Muslims massacre and took a U-Turn from friendship in view of coming polls.
Flaying army operation in tribal areas JI Ameer said, the government was forcing tribal people to lift arms. "Tribesmen always acted like a protective cordon for Pakistan. However, they were being forced to stand against the country." Owing to army action at the Western border, which had always remained peaceful and sage for the country, had become unsafe," he maintained.
Qazi also condemned the raids being conducted on religious seminaries and said that the seminaries were the biggest non-governmental organisations, where hundreds of thousands of children were being provided education.
He further demanded that the US forces and FBI operatives be sent back from Pakistan.
He flayed government for abrupt increase in oil prices saying oil prices were registering a decline in the world market but the same were being enhanced every fortnight under the pressure of multinational companies.
