Women Entrepreneurs of Rawalpindi have called upon the government to make immediate measures to establish a Women Entrepreneurs City (WEC) in order to encourage women to join industrial and export sector and to play their effective role in this field.
Government should made the policy about the establishment of Women Entrepreneurs City public in order to help the female industrialists to know about the government policies about them, said Amina Saleem, Chairperson Standing Committee of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) on Women Entrepreneurs here while addressing the members of the committee.
The standing committee on Women Entrepreneurs met here in RCCI Auditorium with Amina Saleem in chair and was attended by Uzma Gul, Tehmina Mughal, Shamim Akhtar, Yasmeen Kausar and Naseem Raza.
The committee reviewed the problems women entrepreneurs were facing and discussed the efforts to be made to resolve these problems and encourage the women folks to play their role in industry and export sector.
Amina Saleem said that women are in no way less than men and they are working in every field of life and ready to face any challenge.
"People who are considering women less active are not sincere with nation and they must keep in mind that targets of socio-economic development and economic stability could not be attained without active participation of women folks", she said.
Expressing satisfaction over efforts government is making for the industrialisation in the country and said that these efforts would not only lead towards self reliance and economic stability but also help in eradication of poverty, illiteracy and unemployment.
She asked the government to announce a comprehensive policy for the women entrepreneurs of the country in order to encourage them and help them to sort their problems.
The participants of the meeting have reaffirmed their pledge to continue their efforts for the economic development of the country and use all resources for increasing the productivity in the country.
