Keeping in view their the better performance of the conciliatory committees, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Fayyaz Ahmed Khan has directed the concerned quarters to reactivate them and extend their jurisdiction to rural areas of the federal capital.
He made these remarks while presiding over a meeting of conciliatory committees' senior members here at Police Headquarters on Tuesday, which was attended by the SSP, SPs, SDPOs and SHOs besides other senior ICT police officials.
Fayyaz Khan asked the committee members to utilise their resources for pin pointing as well as uprooting the social evils in our society due to financial lust.
Co-ordinated and sincere efforts are needed to make the committees effective for overcoming the scourge of corruption, IGP added.
IG Islamabad said that the prime objective of the committees is to restore the image of police among the general public through their excellent work. Moreover, he appreciated the role being played by the conciliatory committees for the welfare of deprived sections of the society.
