The visiting Pakistani Industries and Production Minister, Liaquat Ali Jatoi, called on President Syed Muhammad Khatami and First Vice-President Muhammad Reza Aref in Tehran and conveyed greetings and best wishes of Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali to Iranian leaders.
Liaquat Jatoi said Pakistan is committed to principles and objectives of the Economic Co-operation Organisation (ECO), and has proposed specific measures to promote industrial co-operation among its member states.
Muhammad Reza Aref said Pakistan and Iran are the two leading countries in the region as well as in the entire Islamic world.
He underlined the need for developing commonalities between the two countries in order to make them as a role model for co-operation in the entire region.
