The sale of chicken meat and eggs is at its peak in the city and other parts of Sialkot district. However, the reports of virus in poultry have brought down the rate of chicken meat in the district.
According to a survey conducted by Business Recorder in the city and some adjoining areas, a large number of people were found buying the chicken meat and eggs.
Similarly, huge rush was also witnessed at city restaurants and Chicken Tikka shops. Some poultry shops owners said that we are morally bound to sale healthy and fresh chicken meat to our customers.
Some chicken meat buyers said that it was matter of great satisfaction that meat of healthy birds are being sold at the city shops.
They said that the reports of virus in poultry have brought down the prices of chicken meat from Rs 85 to Rs 68 per kg. As a result of which a large number of people belonging to middle class and lower class are buying chicken meat for fast approaching Eid celebrations, they added.
