An Election Tribunal, headed by Justice Rustam Ali Malik has rejected the petition of Syed Abbas Akbar alias Mohni Shah of a nominee of National Alliance (Pakistan Millat Party) from PP-199, Multan, against the PPPP's nominee, Syed Nazim Hussain Shah, and declared him a valid successful candidate.
Syed Abbas Akbar has challenged the counting of the votes of his opponent Syed Nazim Hussain Shah in 2002, who was declared successful by the returning officer.
After listening the both sides, the Tribunal reserved the judgement of this case Friday night which was declared on Saturday.
As the judgement announced, a large number of supporters of Nazim Hussain, PPP workers chanted slogans and they distributed sweetmeat among the people.
Makhdoom Amin Faheem, acting chairman of PPP, and provincial chief of PPP Qasim Zia have congratulated him on his success on phone.
