The Australian Wool Exchange (AWEX) said on Thursday its eastern market indicator (EMI) rose three cents to 793 cents a kg clean at sales in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle.
AWEX said at Wednesday sales, its northern indicator (Sydney) rose one cent to 803 c/kg clean, while its southern indicator gained three cents to 784 c/kg clean.
In Fremantle, the western indicator rose six cents to end the day at 759 c/kg.
The Sydney offering saw a selection of 17 to 21 microns (m), with the bulk of the offering in the 17.5m to 19.5m range. The small selection of broader micron types continued to be sought after and added a few more cents to the solid rises of Tuesday.
"The medium 20 and 21 microns held their ground to close unchanged while the finer types were irregular," AWEX said.
In Melbourne, the improved superfine offering has seen 18.9m and finer up to 15 cents dearer, with better styles creating strong competition and in some cases receiving higher premiums.
