The US Agriculture Department's Commodity Credit Corporation today announced the following prevailing world market prices of milled and rough rice, adjusted for US milling yields and location, and the resulting marketing loan gain (MLG) and loan deficiency payment (LDP) rates applicable to the 2003 crop, which are effective today.
Prices increased $0.14 per cwt for long and short grain rice and $0.18 for medium grain rice.
Loan rates declined $0.06 for long grain, $0.04 for medium grain, and $0.05 for short grain rice.
