District and Sessions Judge Islamabad Chaudhry Asad Raza on Saturday adjourned the hearing of the sedition case against Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) acting president Makhdoom Javed Hashmi till February 14.
The hearing was resumed in Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi against Javed Hashmi, President, Alliance for Restoration of Democracy.
Hashmi had pleaded before the court for adjournment of the hearing due to absence of his lawyers. He said that his counsel Syed Zafar Ali Shah had not arrived in the court as his mother expired while the other defence lawyer Sardar Latif Khosa was out of the city. But, the judge rejecting his plea, continued hearing.
The prosecution lawyer Munir Bhatti produced two constables of the Secretariat Police Station Bashir and Akram and a draftsman as witnesses and their statements were recorded.
The court also ordered production of other witnesses on next hearing of the case on February 14.
