Palestinian security officials ordered a trial on Saturday for several Palestinians accused of killing three Americans guarding a US diplomatic convoy in the Gaza Strip last year.
The trial at a Gaza military court was convened on Saturday morning, days after US officials complained the Palestinian Authority had not done enough to co-operate in its investigation into the bombing of the US diplomatic convoy last October.
"We will put the defendants in the bombing incident of the American vehicle on trial at 10:00 am (0800 GMT). They will face military prosecutors," a security official told Reuters.
It was not immediately clear how many Palestinians would stand trial. One official said either two or three would face the court.
A Reuters reporter at the scene said he saw three men, who appeared to be the defendants, being driven into a military compound in Gaza City where the trial was to take place.
Three American guards were killed in the incident when a road side bomb blew up as their convoy of armoured jeeps drove by on their way to Gaza City to interview candidates for Fulbright Scholarships.
