Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri met his Ukrainian counterpart Kostyantyn Gryshchenko on the sidelines of the Munich Conference in Germany.
Both sides emphasised upon the need to enhance co-operation in the field of trade and defence, said a message received here on Sunday from Munich.
The Foreign Minister of Ukraine extended an invitation to Kasuri to visit Kiev, which was accepted by him.
He assured him that he would undertake the visit at his earliest opportunity as it would act as a catalyst in further promoting mutually beneficial relationship.
The Ukrainian Foreign Minister also accepted the invitation to visit Pakistan.
Khurshid M. Kasuri is attending the 40th Munich conference on security policy with the theme "Prospects of Transatlantic Relations, Future of Nato and Future Developments in Middle East," which was inaugurated by the German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer on Saturday.
The keynote speakers include Foreign Minister Khurshid M. Kasuri, King of Jordan, US Secretary for Defence Donald Rumsfeld, Ministers for Defence from Germany, United Kingdom, France, Russia and Secretary General of Nato.
The conference on security issues is held every year in Munich and has acquired the same prestige as enjoyed by the Davos Summit on world economic issues.
Foreign Minister Khurshid M. Kasuri is to deliver his speech on Sunday, when the conference will discuss the future developments in the Middle East. His address will focus on Pakistan and the Middle East.
During his interview to the CNN on Saturday, he said that Pakistan was fully alive to its responsibilities that came with the acquisition of nuclear technology and capability.
He assured that Pakistan's strategic assets were completely safe and they were under ironclad organisational, administrative and command and control structures.
