A three-member delegation of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is arriving in Lahore on Monday via Wagah border on an eight-day visit to review security arrangements for the forthcoming India-Pakistan Test and one-day series.
The delegation comprises Professor R.S Shetty, joint secretary, BCCI, Yashovardhan Azad, Inspector General of Police, VIP Security Division, Ministry of Home Affairs and Amrit Mathur, Director Communication and Co-ordination, BCCI.
"A three-member team of Indian experts is visiting Pakistan from February 9 to assess the security measures at the possible venues, like Multan, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Karachi, Peshawar and Faisalabad in Pakistan," said Sheryar Khan, Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
They will be accompanied by a four-man team of Pakistan Cricket Board officials during their visit to each centre.
The PCB team includes Zakir Khan, General Manager Cricket Operations, Samiul Hassan, General Manager Media, Major Javed Arshad Khan Manj (Retd), Manager Services and Human Resources and Asad Mustafa, Manager Logistics and Development .
The Indian team will also attend briefings from Pakistani security agencies and meet government officials.
The Indian team and the PCB officials will not be directly available to the media during their tour. However, a joint statement will be released after the conclusion of the visit.
IRANIAN NATIONAL HELD: Army Intelligence Agency caught an Iranian national, Shah Rukh, who was wandering in the cantonment area on Saturday night He possessed no visa, passport and other travelling documents.
"We have arrested an Iranian national, Shah Rukh, from the cantonment area wandering in a suspicious manner. He entered Pakistan secretly He is being interrogated," a military official said.
Shah Rukh confessed that he entered Pakistan unlawfully and he has no visa or passport. He said he was in search of a job.
