The 'father of microbiology in Pakistan', Professor Dr A. A. Anwar, has expired in Texas, USA, at the age of 86.
This was announced by the Chairperson of the Department of Microbiology, University of Karachi, Professor Dr Shahana Urooj Kazmi, here on Monday.
She said that Professor Anwar, who himself was a PhD in Botany, had foreseen the significance of the discipline of Microbiology in the years ahead.
