CSCE arabica futures were called to open 0.20 to 0.50 cent higher Tuesday based on steady prices for beans in the overseas markets, brokers said.
"Let's call it 20 to 50 higher to start. We're going to see more rolling of March positions today by the funds and specs," a floor broker said. First notice day for March coffee is February 19.
Liffe's nearby March robusta was up $10 at $741 a tonne at 8:29 am (1329 GMT), with a $732-$742 range. Total volume came to 4,337 contracts.
CSCE certified stocks of coffee rose 3,130 60-kg bags on February 6 to 4,441,077 bags from 4,437,947 bags on February 5. The number of bags pending grading fell to 17,001 bags.
Technicians pegged support for March at 70.75 cents followed by 70.50 cents. Resistance was expected at 71.85 cents and then 72.50 cents.
