The Australian Wool Exchange (AWEX) said its eastern market indicator (EMI) fell 16 cents to 775 cents a kg clean at its latest sales on Thursday.
AWEX said its northern indicator (Sydney) fell three cents to 789 c/kg, its southern indicator (Melbourne) fell 26 cents to 763 c/kg and its western indicator (Fremantle) fell four cents to 748 c/kg.
In Sydney, finer types traded at similar levels to the day earlier with 19.5 microns and broader types (40nkt or MF4) attracting good support, while some of the off-types eased slightly.
In Melbourne, 19 microns and finer prices fell sharply. A high pass-in rate of around 35 percent hindered sales as 17.5 microns and finer with 35 market were up to 40 cents cheaper, 18.5 micron lost significant ground falling 40 cents with better style lots less-affected, 19/19.5 micron fell sharply and ended up 40 cents cheaper.
The 20 micron category 40nkt lots were up to 10 cents cheaper, while 35nkt fell by up to 20 cents, 21 microns and broader had prices similar to Wednesday.
In Fremantle, 19 microns were as much as 15 cents easier, while 21 and 22 microns lost up to five cents, while 20 microns were up to 10 cents dearer and 23 and 24 microns firmed five cents.
There were 22,340 bales offered, of which 25.8 percent was passed in. Sales continue in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle on Tuesday in Melbourne.
