Pakistan and Poland have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on bilateral consultations between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries.
The MoU was signed during the two-day official visit of Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri to Poland.
Foreign Minister Kasuri and Foreign Minister Cimoszewiec led the talks, which were focused on enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries.
The two sides exchanged views on bilateral and international matters of mutual interest and concern.
The Polish Foreign Minister said that both Pakistan and Poland enjoyed strategic importance owing to their geo-political location and shared common views on different issues of mutual concern.
He said that exchanged views were included bilateral co-operation in energy, coal mining, sugar beet and agricultural machinery as well as exchange of students, scholars and scientific co-operation.
Polish Foreign Minister said that Poland was interested in enhancing its bilateral relations with Pakistan and the visit would add impetus to the existing Pakistan-Poland relations.
Foreign Minister Kasuri briefed his counterpart about the developments in Afghanistan.
He also made a special mention of the positive developments in Pak-India relations in particular, the joint statement issued during the Islamabad Saarc Summit.
They also shared their perceptions on developments related to their respective regions.
The two sides also agreed to explore all possibilities to provide momentum to economic and commercial relations as well as in other areas.
Talking to press, Kasuri said that Pakistan was playing an important role in fight against terrorism and its co-operation was extended to the international community.
To a question about Dr A Q Khan, Kasuri said that no one was above the law and that Pakistan took a courageous and correct decision in response to IAEA' s reference.
