Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali has said that the new National Finance Commission Award will be announced very soon.
Talking to notables of the areas here on Sunday, he said that all the provinces, especially Balochistan, would get more financial resources than the past. The increased amount would be spent on development activities.
"The democratic system in the country is strengthening with the passage of time," he
said and added the provinces have been given more independence in financial planning so that they could spend funds according to their priorities.
He said: "All the provinces are being equally treated in the field of economic development strategy."
Besides, he added, a system of financial checks and balances has been introduced to plug leakage of funds and impose financial discipline in government departments.
MORE PROJECTS: Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali told the elders gathering that more projects were being executed in Balochistan, which would bring about economic revolution in the entire province and would also contribute towards the national economy.
Tremendous job and business opportunities would also generate as a result of these projects. In this connection, he mentioned Gwadar port, coastal highway, Mirani and other dams.
Feasibility of laying of railway track to link Gwadar port with Karachi and Quetta is also being studied so that the new seaport could cater for the needs of Central Asian countries.
The prime minister said that his government has provided sufficient funds for providing communication, health, education water and agriculture facilities in backward areas. He assured the people that problems of their areas would be resolved.
Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Mohammad Yousaf, provincial ministers, Mir Abdul Rehman Jamali and Mir Abdul Ghafoor Lehri, MPAs from the areas, Nazmeen and notables from Balochistan and Sindh were present on the occasion.
Prime Minister Jamali also attended Valima reception of his nephew Mir Amir Khan Jamali, son of a former provincial minister late Mir Abdul Nebi Jamali.
