The Speaker National Assembly fully supported the new local bodies system and said that it should be continued for larger interest of the common man in the country.
Chaudhry Amir Hussain said that efforts are being made for constituting the "Development Board" comprising on elected representatives of the district governments while the Members National and Provincial Assemblies would be the ex-officio members of the development board.
The development board would be constituted after discussing different aspects and members of the parliament would be taken into confidence, he added.
The step, he said, is being taken for developing complete co-ordination among the elected representatives as well as to accelerate the pace of development process and to ensure proper utilisation of funds.
