Police in the occupied Jammu and Kashmir said on Saturday they had arrested suspected freedom fighters who had planned to attack New Delhi's international airport.
Occupied Kashmir Police chief Gopal Sharma told reporters that the three suspected men belonged to the Lashkar-e-Taiba group.
"Preliminary interrogation revealed that they intended to carry out a criminal act of terror on Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGA) around February 20," Sharma said.
He said an accomplice escaped.
One of the three suspects, Sharma said, was also involved in two suicide attacks, including one on the occupied Jammu railway station on January 2 in which six people died.
He said the suspects were still being interrogated and had not yet been charged. Police recovered a large amount of ammunition including three assault rifles and 12 grenades when they were arrested, Sharma said.
