Pakistan-Russia Joint Working Group on Tuesday agreed to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries.
Participants of the second session of the Joint Working Group on Counter-Terrorism decided this in a meeting held here at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
They discussed concrete steps for co-operation in the campaign against terrorism, eradicating illegal drug trafficking and expanding mutual co-operation in multifarious fields during the meeting.
Toheed Ahmad, Additional Foreign Secretary led the Pakistan side and Anatoly Safonov, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russian Federation headed the Russian delegation in the meeting.
The two sides discussed issues of mutual interest within the framework of campaign against terrorism, religious extremism and narcotics control.
Other key issues discussed during the meeting included Pakistan-India relations, situation in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Both sides had identical views on international and regional issues of mutual interest and they expressed satisfaction over the existing friendly bilateral relations.
Both agreed that there was no obstacle to steady growth of their relations for which greater interaction between the two countries was stressed.
