The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday adjourned the proceedings in some identical petitions filed against Land Based Property Tax System (LBPTS) till Wednesday, as the law officer did not appear before the court.
The petitioners contended that the respondent Excise & Taxation Department introduced the new system without taking the people into confidence. They said that new system was against the interests of the common people.
It was prayed to the court to declare the new property tax system as illegal and without lawful authority.
It was also prayed to the court to direct the respondent government officials not to disturb the petitioners till final decision.
