Iran's First Vice-President Mohammad Reza Aref will pay a three-day visit to Pakistan in the first week of March for talks with President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Zafarullah Khan Jamali.
"The visit will be a follow-up of Prime Minister Zafarullah Jamali`s visit to Iran," Iranian news agency IRNA reported on Monday quoting informed sources. "Reza Aref is expected to arrive on March 3."
During his stay, some agreements and memoranda of understanding are also expected to be signed, mainly in economic and trade sectors.
Meanwhile, a meeting of the joint commission of Pakistan and Iran will be held, on the basis which, agreements will be signed in the presence of Dr Aref and Premier Jamali, sources added.
Minister for Roads and Transport Ahmad Khorram will represent Iran while Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz will represent Pakistan at the discussions.
The commission will hold deliberations on finding ways and means to lower tariff rates, setting up border markets at Pak-Iran border and supply of electricity to some parts of Balochistan province by Iran.
