Saudi-Pak Commercial Bank has signed an agreement to acquire revolutionary designed and technology-based IBM eServer xSeries (Intel Processor-based Servers) to run their core banking application, debit card system, data warehousing and disaster recovery.
A spokesman of the IBM on Friday said that the bank would use these servers to automate their head office and regional offices for the online transactions to further enhance their customer services.
They have taken this initiative in view of their business growth and as a solution they have opted for IBM eServer xSeries model x445. The x445 delivers "mainframe inspired technologies" and is the next generation scalable enterprise server based upon the latest enterprise X-Architecture technology. Infotech, IBM Business partner, delivered the entire solution, the spokesman said.
Saudi-Pak Commercial Bank President and Chief Executive Officer Syed Hassan Iktedar and IBM Pakistan Country General Manager Humayun Bashir signed the agreement.
