Now-a-days, the practice has become very common that during the VVIPs visits, the security personnel stop the traffic long before the arrival of the important person, to just secure him from any terror attack and to make his visit hindrance-free.
Our government high-ups and rulers are so afraid of their lives that they make the entire city suffer from their presence.
The biggest problem of a crowded city like Karachi is traffic jam, which becomes worse when roads are shut to ensure the smooth movement of the VVIPs. During such visits, the security arrangements cause serious traffic jams. The commuters then face extreme inconvenience as their movements are restricted from the security personnel. Shopkeepers are also forced to close their businesses and no pedestrian is allowed to stay on the road.
But unfortunately, the VVIPs donot imagine the sufferings of the general public as their movements are always smooth and safe.
The main factor of all this regretful situation is the ineffeciency of our police force in handling traffic.
They donot have the ability to combat the traffic jam crisis during such visits. So the authorities should take effective measures to handle traffic during the visits of the VVIPs.
