The Election Commission of Pakistan on Sunday extended the last date to file nomination papers for the by- election to vacant seats of Union Nazims and Naib Nazims in Punjab, Sindh, NWFP and Balochistan.
Chief Election Commissioner Chief Justice Irshad Hasan Khan (Retd) has announced partial revision in the programme for by-elections to vacant seats of members, Union Nazims and Naib Union Nazims in Union Council in Punjab, Sindh, NWFP and Balochistan.
The candidates for these by-elections can now file their nomination papers with the Returning Officers from March 3 to 5.
According to revised schedule, notice of nomination papers filed with the Returning Officers will be published on March 6 while remaining programme of by-elections as notified on January 21 shall remain unchanged.
The polling shall be held on March 28 as per original schedule.
