Bangladesh Prime Minster Khalida Zia has invited Prime Minister Mir Zafaruallah Khan Jamali to visit Dhaka, hoping that ties between the two countries would be further enhanced in near future.
She extended the invitation while talking to a five-member Pakistani delegation, headed by the PML secretary general Salim Saifuallah Khan in Dhaka.
She hailed the resumption of talks between Pakistan and India and hoped that this process would lead the stability and peace in the region.
Talking to NNI, Salim Saifuallah said that the delegation also held meetings with ruling BNP secretary general, Jamaat-i-Islami and a delegation of Biharis during its stay in Dhaka.
"During an hour-long meeting with the BD prime minister, we extended good wishes to her on behalf of President Musharraf and PM Jamali, and she extended the invitation to PM Jamali to visit Dhaka," he said.
Global, regional and bilateral issues, including Pak-India relations and latest developments took place, were also discussed in the meeting, he said.
Khalida recalled the days when she lived in West Pakistan with her late husband General Zia-ur-Rehman and said that her eldest son was born in Lahore and she also inquired about the developments of Lahore and traditional dishes of the city.
The BD minister of local bodies Bahyian would soon visit Pakistan on his invitation, who is also the secretary general of the ruling BNP.
