The release of 2.5 percent share of GST among the District Governments and TMAs of the province came under discussion at a meeting held under the chairmanship of Advisor to Chief Minister for Local Government, Wasim Akhtar here on Thursday.
After detailed deliberations it was decided that the share of District Government and TMAs will be directly released to them on the basis of the amount being received by them according to historical flows which has been frozen at the level of financial year 1998-99.
However in case of the City District Government Karachi (CDGK) and the TMAs will receive their share on the basis of notification and Katchi Abadis department.
Officers of local government and Finance department attended the meeting.
