Without giving exact date of Ms Benazir Bhutto's return to Pakistan, Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarian (PPPP) president Makhdoom Amin Fahim on Thursday affirmed that her return would be surprising.
"Benazir is coming to Pakistan very soon as she is not scared of General Musharraf's military uniform," he added.
Addressing a news conference at the residence of Alliance for Restoration of Democracy (ARD) deputy secretary Munir Ahmad Khan, Amin Fahim demanded of the government to step down as it utterly failed to protect law abiding citizens.
"Gruesome Quetta tragedy is the outcome of irresponsibility on the part of the present rulers," he observed.
He expressed his doubt that owing to failure of government, more sectarian problems could happen in the country in days to come.
Amin Fahim strongly refused to make any kind of working relationship with the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal as joint opposition.
He also refused to seek MMA's support to the Alliance for Restoration of Democracy anti-Musharraf campaign.
About assemblies' fate, he said, ARD did not want dissolution of assemblies but their struggle, which according to him was peaceful, was against the dictatorship of General Musharraf. "I think assemblies should complete their stipulated tenure of five years because dissolution always provides chance to dictators to grab power," he opined.
Answering a question about nomination of opposition leader in the National Assembly, Amin Fahim said after MMA's joining of the government camp, ARD had left single largest opposition alliance in the assembly so it was its right to nominate its member as an opposition leader.
Commenting on National Security Council Bill in the National Assembly, he said Alliance for Restoration of Democracy was against it but they could not make joint strategy to launch protest along with the MMA in this regard.
Showing some reservations on the government's nuclear policy, the Alliance for Restoration of Democracy stalwart said, it was quite possible that Pakistan's nuclear programme could be rolled back after recent measures by the government.
