Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad on Thursday said that all terrorists and terrorist organisations would be dealt with even-handedly as criminal and gangs of criminals.
The Governor was addressing a meeting of the Ulema of different sects, leading opinion leaders and provincial ministers.
Among others, Advisers on Home Affairs, Aftab Ahmed Sheikh, Religious Affairs, Irfan Gul Magsi, Sindh Chief Secretary, Dr Mutawwakil Kazi, Additional Home Secretary, Syed Anwar Haider, Principal Secretary, Akhtar Zamin, Director General Rangers, Major General Javed Zia, IGP Syed Kamal Shah and Secretary Religious Affairs, Maqbool Sheikh were also present in the meeting.
The Governor stressed the religious leaders that hatred should not be fanned and terrorists should not be permitted to spoil the hard-earned peace of the Karachi in particular and of the province in general.
He said that he would not talk to terrorists or terrorist organisations, as they were "simple criminals," and added that there was no question of talking to them. "They are criminals and would be dealt with accordingly."
He called upon the Ulema to identify the miscreants and help the provincial government to bring them to book.
The Governor said that his government was committed to bring peace in the province and would not let anybody to spoil it.
He expressed his grief over the Quetta tragedy and offered his heartfelt condolence to the bereaved families.
