The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and the Federation of Yemen Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FYCCI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the promotion of co-operation among the organisations.
According to FPCCI communiqué, the MoU was signed by Sohail Altaf, Vice President and Zonal Chairman on behalf of FPCCI during his visit to Yemen from March 1 to 3, 2004 and Mohammed Saeed, President of FYCCI.
Commerce Minister Humayun Akhtar Khan and Khaild Sharif, Yemeni Minister for Trade and Industry, government officials, ambassadors of both Yemen and Pakistan and office-bearers of FYCCI attended the signing ceremony.
Both the federations have also agreed to organise single-country exhibitions in Pakistan and Yemen this year.
Humayun Akhtar Khan, accompanied by Sohail Altaf, held meetings with vice president and Deputy Prime Minister of Yemen. Both the leaders of Yemen were keen to promote trade relations with Pakistan.
