Sindh Chief Secretary, Dr Mutawakkal Kazi, has called upon the social workers and all sections of the society to contribute towards maintaining a friendly environment of national unity and integrity, Islamic brotherhood and understanding in the light of religious teachings.
He was talking to a representative delegation of people belonging to various strata of life at his office here on Thursday.
The chief secretary had convened the meeting to thank them for their role in maintaining peace and harmony during Ashura-e-Muharram-ul-Haram. The delegation appreciated the traffic arrangements during Ashura days on city's busy roads. They suggested that such arrangements should continue on permanent basis.
The delegation drew attention of chief secretary towards reconstruction of 9-Km long Korangi to Qayyumabad (Hino Chowk) and Qayyumabad to Kalapul roads, which have been continuing for the last three years, resulting in great inconvenience to more than 2.5 million population of Landhi and Korangi besides wastage of time.
They also complained about the attitude of a Revenue official in connection with the issuance of PRC and Domicile in Landhi, Lyari, Liaquatabad and SITE Towns.
