The Secretary Environment Sindh, Shujaat Ali Qarni has strongly negated the impact that Thar coal project has caused severe hazards for environment.
Contradicting a news item published in a section of press he said that this project is being initiated with the consent and after taking Department of Environment Protection Sindh into confidence.
He said that personnel of Environment Protection and Minerals are in close contact and several joint sessions had been convened in this connection, which were also attended by foreign experts.
The concerned persons were being thoroughly briefed about environmental protection rules and requisites in this regard.
He observed that this project would benefit millions of Pakistanis without being harmful for wildlife and environment.
