Ukraine increased feed barley exports through its seaports to 103,600 tonnes in February compared with 24,800 tonnes in January, analysts said on Tuesday.
ProAgro agriculture consultancy said Ukraine had exported 60,900 tonnes of feed barley to Turkey, 20,000 tonnes to Cyprus and 22,700 tonnes to Saudi Arabia in February.
Ukraine hit by a poor barley crop of 6.8 million tonnes in 2003, cut barley exports through seaports to 926,077 tonnes in the first half of the 2003/04 season from 1.979 million tonnes in the same period last season. Ukraine harvested 10.4 million tonnes of barley in 2002 and exported a total of 2.88 million tonnes in 2002/03.
