Chinese Defence Minister General Cao Gangchuan is to arrive here on March 22 on a five-day official visit to Pakistan for talks on defence and security matters, officials said on Tuesday.
General Cao, leading a 20-member delegation, will hold talks with high-ranking civil and military officials, they added.
The Chinese delegation's visit follows defence and security talks initiated by Vice Chief of Army Staff General Mohammad Yusuf in China last year, a government official told AFP.
General Cao, who met President Pervez Musharraf during his visit to Beijing in November, is unlikely to call on the Pakistani leader during his stay in Islamabad, the official said speaking on condition of anonymity.
The visit will further strengthen co-operation between the armed forces of the two countries, APP said.
