Present government has miserably failed to control the inflation in the country and give any relief to the masses, said Imran Khan, Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) here on Wednesday.
Talking to a delegation of traders which met him under the leadership of Amjed Ali, Secretary General Insaf Traders Cell, Imran Khan said that there is dire need of a revolutionary programme in order to bring the country out of the crisis.
He rejected the tall claims made by present government regarding the stability in the country's economy and said that if the foreign exchange reserves have Swelled to the tune of 12.5 billion dollars then why government is imposing various taxes on essential commodities. Whey the POL prices are being increasing day by day, he asked.
PTI, he said has a revolutionary programme which would control inflation and change the country's economic structure in a positive manner.
Main issue is to give people a relief as they are shouldering the whole burden of the tax structure on their shoulders, he added.
He said that the business community is back bone of the economy of a country and government should form a policy to give them maximum relief and decrease the taxes. Amjed Ali informed the PTI chief about the progress and performance of the trader cell of the party.
He said that the traders of Rawalpindi are united and ready to implement on the programme given by the party.
He expressed deep concern over the increase in the POL prices and said that the fluctuation in the POL prices is harming the entire system of the country and main target of this fluctuation is common people.
He called upon the government to take appropriate measures to bring the prices of essential commodities under control by giving tax relief to the traders and manufacturers.
