On the call given by the Lahore Atta Chakki Owners Association, atta chakki owners observed strike for the second consecutive day on Friday in protest against the harassment and 'illegal arrests'.
Over 500 members of the association kept closed their respective organisations throughout the day and vowed to close down their business till the acceptance of their just demands.
Due to strike of the members of the association, people in most parts of the city had to face hardships in getting atta at retail level.
It may be mentioned that the atta chakki owners are observing the strike to press the government for acceptance of their demands. Meanwhile, a meeting of General Body of the Lahore Atta Chakki Owners Association was held at Railways Road with Liaquat Ali Malik in the chair.
The meeting decided to continue the strike till the acceptance of their demands.
