Worldcall plans to be the first entrant in the local loop telephony market with operations in all the 13 telecom regions.
According to company high-ups, consequent to the imminent deregulation, spearheaded by the PTA and Ministry of Information Technology & Telecom, there is a new opening to Pakistan's telecom market.
Telephony services encompassing voice and data operators are gearing up as licences are announced to be available by the end of May, 2004.
Therefore, according to them, Worldcall has taken yet another bold step to anticipate the de-regulation by signing up with two leading telecom vendors ZTE & Huawei.
This follows from the recent announcement of a turnkey contract for Ji multimillion-dollar next generation network powered by Siemens, Cisco and Nuera and positions WorldCall as the true alternative national telecom operator.
The contracts with ZTE and Huawei cater for Multi Services Access Network for providing telephony, broadband internet, data, VPN's and next-generation services from a single platform.
After the availability of the network, Worldcall will be able to provide its customers with quality services, additional telephony choices and new features at very attractive prices.
Tariq Malik, MD, Worldcall Telecom, said his company "has embarked on a strategy to provide multiple telecom services to the Pakistan market based on leveraging its existing operations and partnering with the leading national and international vendors to provide the market with alternative choices, quality of service, new products and better pricing".
According to him, Pakistan is one of the few international markets undergoing deregulation and at this point of exponential growth, Worldcall is ideally positioned to delivering excellent services, create shareholders' value and offer new job opportunities.
