Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali on Sunday asked the elected representatives to keep close and direct links with the people to resolve their problems at the grass root level.
The prime minister was talking to the elected representatives, who called on him here at the State Guest House on Sunday.
The premier emphasised the need that the government should provide more facilities to the agriculture sector to boost the farm production.
Member National Assembly Sardar Nasrullah Dareshak and Shaheen Attiqur Rehman, member Punjab Assembly, called on him here and discussed issues relating to development projects.
Sardar Nasrullah Dareshak briefed the prime minister about development schemes undertaken by the government in his constituency for the socio-economic uplift of the people.
He also exchanged views to strengthen democratic institutions with active participation of the elected representatives and masses.
The premier highlighted the importance of democratic institutions in resolving the problems of the people and emphasised the need to use these institutions in a better way to improve the living standard of the people.
Shaheen Attiqur Rehman, MPA during her meeting with the prime minister demanded giving representation to women as judges of the Supreme Court, High Courts and Family Courts.
Referring to social welfare projects for the people, she said, there should be more efforts to provide maximum possible facilities to women as they are 50 percent of the country's population.
She asked the premier to allocate more funds for the improvement of literacy rate for women both in rural and urban areas.
Prime Minister Zafarullah Khan Jamali, appreciating the efforts and concern of Shaheen Attiqur Rehman about the welfare and education of women, assured her that the government would take maximum steps to provide the best possible facilities to women.
