It is probable that National Security Council would be discussed during current session of National Assembly, said Speaker National Assembly Chaudhry Amir Hussain.
In an informal discussion with Business Recorder here on Sunday he said that the debate on National Security Council would be carried out for 35 hours. The Speaker said that there are possibilities of holding of National Assembly sessions in the morning and evening.
Elections of various standing committees would also be held and the current session of the Assembly will be continued for one month the Speaker National Assembly revealed.
Chaudhry Amir Hussain said that adequate efforts are being made for preparing the schedule of sessions of National Assembly for next year.
The purpose of chalking out the schedule of the Assembly sessions is to facilitate and for the convenience of the members of treasury and opposition benches as well as to enabling them to attend the session according to the programme with full preparation Chaudhry Amir Hussain said.
He said that all out efforts are being made for holding the session every month at least for two weeks duration adding that both treasury and opposition benches would be taken into confidence in this regard.
All democratic institutions are successfully functioning in the country and collective efforts should be made for the promotion of democracy and for further strengthening the democratic institutions he said.
Chaudhry Amir Hussain said that with revival of democracy the prestige of Pakistan has been increased at an international level.
Similarly, the concrete economic policies of Pakistan are also being highly appreciated by different foreign countries he added.
