NWFP Governor Lieutenant General Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah (Retd) on Saturday visited D.I.Khan during which he attended as a chief guest the annual horse and cattle show at Ghulam Muhammad Khan Mela Ground.
The mela is a traditional cultural event of the area, which is participated by a large number of people belonging to the southern district of NWFP and adjoining areas of Punjab province
The ceremony was attended by thousands of spectators, many of them brought their cattles for exhibition and competition.
The District Nazim Major Latifullah Alizai (Retd), MPAs Mazhar Ali Shah, Nawabzada Tahir bin Yamin, Nawabzada Hafeezullah Alizai and Mazhar Jamil Alizai, District Nazim Tank Nawabzada Binyamin Khan and Tehsil Nazim Fatehullah Khan Miankhel were also present on the occasion.
Various interested events and competition like horse race, dog race, tinting, weight lifting and P.T show were also presented on the occasion which were highly applause and appreciated by the spectators.
Moreover Khan Muhammad and Gulistan Khan Tata were given consolation prizes for horse dancing and P.T. Show respectively.
