Ambassador Ashraf Jehangir Qazi held a luncheon meeting with Steven Wiesmen, editorial page writer of the New York Times on Friday.
In the meeting, Pakistan-US relations, war on terror, non-proliferation and peace and stability in South Asia came up under discussion.
Qazi expressed satisfaction over the growing Pakistan-US multiyear relationship, and Pakistan remained a close ally of the United States in the war against global terrorism.
In a meeting with Brian Duffy, editor US News and World Report, the Ambassador said Pakistan security agencies were involved in action against any hiding fugitives in the tribal areas. For this purpose, he said help of the tribal leaders have been sought.
Ambassador Qazi, later gave a detailed interview to Larry Luxner, editor, Washington Diplomat, focusing on Pakistan-India peace initiative, saying "it is an upward move, as ice has broken."
He said it is a process, which should go on and all issues must be resolved through dialogue.
