Sarhad NGOs Ittehad (SNI) a platform of the non-governmental organisations in NWFP has decided to observe the World Peace Day falling on March 20.
This was announced by Shakeel Wahidullah, Provincial Co-ordinator of the SNI here while addressing a press conference here on Tuesday.
Giving details of the arrangements made in connections with World Peace Day, he said that the Ittehad would stage a peace rally and would hold a convention to discuss the donor agencies changing policies towards the NGOs working in the NWFP.
He said that the convention would discuss the changing policy of the international donor agencies vis-à-vis the NGOs working in the Frontier province.
The SNI co-ordinator was of the view that after the repatriation of Afghan Refugees, situation in the province had changed due to which socio-economic issues have complicated and need to redress.
He told newsmen that with changing situation the donor agencies have also changed their policy.
The convention would also discuss relations between NWFP govt and non-governmental organisations.
Wahidullah bitterly criticised the provincial government for denying Nishtar Hall to hold convention in it.
He said that after the conclusion of the convention the participants would stage a peace rally from the Archive Hall which would be culminated at the Peshawar Press Club.
"The objective of the peace rally was to express solidarity with the people of Iraq and condemn the hegemonic designs of the US the world over. The expansionist policies of US had made the world insecure for humanity and we will protest it," remarked Wahidullah.
He also criticised of the presence of US forces busy in operation in tribal areas, saying that the rulers have put the integrity of the country stake by allowing US forces to carry operation.
